Hi this is Dr. Ojugbeli with the Kudos Weight Loss program. As an obesity medicine specialist, I have found out that one of the greatest challenged to getting people the treatment they need that actually works to take care of excess body weight is misinformation. There’s a lot of information out there about different types of diets from low carb, ketogenic diet, intermittent fasting, portion control, low fat, you name it. What is the average person to do?

I think the information is a lot more damaging when it from a professional. Recently, one of my patients who’s done amazing, she’s lost 90 pounds on medical treatment in under 8 months. She went for surgery recently and that anesthesiologist asked her about one of the medicine she’s taking, Wegovy. Now, the anesthesiologist said I haven’t seen this before, I don’t know what it is. He does Google research I suppose and comes back and tells the patient you shouldn’t be taking this. What? You shouldn’t be taking Wegovy because it is nothing but tobacco. What are you talking about? Wegovy? The best drug for weight loss since we started having treatment for obesity. Are you kidding me?

What is in Wegovy is called semaglutide. It is the same medicine they have in Rybelsus. It is the same medicine they have in Ozempic. All very effective treatments for diabetes. Because this is for weight loss, you’re telling the patient not to take it, I was really ticked off. I had to call my patient to reassure her that we are doing the right thing. You’ve done marvelous, you’ve dropped 90 pounds and that’s the most impactful thing you can do for health. Don’t listen to the anesthesiologist.

When it comes to losing weight, there are some many things out there. Some of them are very confusing, most of them are based on personal opinion. You have the responsibility to look for somebody who knows what they’re doing. Treatments are based on research and scientific validation is what you need. The good news is as effective treatment nowadays, you can control this chronic brain disease called obesity. The best way to do it is from medical management from somebody who knows what they’re doing. For those of you who are trying to lose weight and run into confusion, just know the science is getting better and the treatments are there. You just need to look for somebody who can guide you and lead you in the right direction. If you do, you’re going to be as amazingly as successful as my patient who’s dropped 90 pounds. For trying at all, I say Kudos to you. Please check us out at kudosweightloss.com, you will probably learn a thing or two. You can trust the information you get from us. Kudos to you!

Kudos,
